Laissez Les Bon Temps Rouler!

March 7, 2011

painting by Marcia Baldwin

While we’re sure some of you would happily spend Mardi Gras in New Orleans if given the chance, we prefer to visit the Big Easy on less crowded inebriated “festive” weekends and celebrate Mardi Gras at home. Last year Liz had a Shrimp and Grits soirée, but this year we were busy having entirely too much fun in Houston and forgot all about it! Never fear, there is still time to plan a little Mardi Gras dinner of your own…don’t forget the beads and hurricanes!

Mardi Gras Menu

French Quarter Cocktails

Better Cheddar

Boudin Sausage Balls

Arnaud’s Oysters Bienville

Jalapeno Cheese Grits (perfect for Shrimp and Grits!)

Andouille and Chicken Jambalaya

New Orleans BBQ Shrimp

Brennan’s Bananas Foster

King Cake – better find yourself a plastic baby, stat!
